Slide background

OMNIS has received a donation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that includes some trendy equipments for the mining sector in Madagascar and especially for geology and geophysics areas. The first device is a mobile Scintillometer RS 120, which is very useful to detect and to identify gamma radiations ; the second one is a mobile Spectrometer GT 30 that helps to determine without delay the concentrations of Potassium (K), Uranium (U) and Thorium. Those materials are known as the latest technology that we could have on the market in radioactive ore prospecting. Plus, the IAEA has also given the ARCGIS Software to OMNIS which will be used in databases management, maps elaboration and data processing.

This donation took place at the National Institute of Nuclear Sciences and Technology at the University of Antananarivo as part of the Nuclear days 2019. The aim of the event is to promote nuclear research in various field like medicine, farming, mining but also to whitewash this field in order to use it as a key to develop Madagascar.
