The year 2021 is a year of celebration for OMNIS due to its forty-five years of existence. An ecumenical service was held at the beginning of this celebration on March 16, 2021 with the attendance of the Minister of Mines and Strategic Industries, the Chairman of the Board of Directors and all the staff. Various events were mentioned in the program.
Among them, the open-door events to give to the public a better understanding of the missions and responsibilities of OMNIS. They took place at the City Hall of Antananarivo on 8, 9, 10 July 2021. It was therefore possible to follow all the events online thanks to the website www.omnis-45.mg and live on the social network Facebook. Several prominent speakers were involved to approach key themes such as economic benefits, opportunities, environment, etc. all around the exploration of strategic resources in Madagascar.
Afterwards, a day of hiking was organized on August 13, 2021. An unusual event for the staff of OMNIS and an opportunity to gather in an extra professional setting. A variety of individual and collective sports meetings in-house were also held on the premises of the Office.
Direction Province of Toliara. This was followed by the signature of a partnership agreement between OMNIS and the University of Toliara. A partnership that focuses on technical cooperation between the two entities according to respective needs as well as mutual assistance in mining and petroleum projects.
Finally, on September 30, 2021, three (3) school buildings were established in the village of Ankida in Mahaboboka. Place where natural gas was discovered in 2011. A project that was launched due to the lack of adequate infrastructure and the fact that the children were attending classes under a tree or in a church.
For the years to come, the Office is confident and intend to be one of the significant contributors to the economic development of the country with these sectors as a lever.
