The Office reasserted its responsibilities to the local communities surrounding the exploration and exploitation sites. In November 2020, the public primary school of Ankida, a village in the commune of Mahaboboka in Sakaraha benefited from school kits for children and teachers. On September 30, 2021, three (3) school buildings equipped with benches, tables, a table, … were implemented in the village. This initiative was taken after witnessing that teaching in this village was taking place either in a church or in the open air under a tree where the temperature rarely drops below 30°C. From now on, education will take place in these 3 new buildings which have been designed to withstand the type of local climate.
The handing over ceremony took place in the presence of local authorities, villagers, students and teachers, as well as the OMNIS staff led by the President of the Board of Directors.
This visit to the South is also marked by the signature of a partnership agreement between OMNIS and the University of Toliara on September 29, 2021. This is based on technical cooperation between the two entities according to their respective needs and a partnership in mining or oil and gas projects or similar fields.
